Week 1 Thoughts -- The truth in real time

Lil Rounds -- terrible outfit and a lousy rendition of MJ's The Way You Make Me Feel.  She really blew any momentum she had coming into this week.  Dreadful!  Randy, Kara & Paula were wrong in the praise they spouted.  Simon was even too nice.

Scott MacIntyre -- Smart choice to sing a lesser known MJ tune.  Scott is great when playing the piano.  I loved it.  Prior to tonight, I was not a fan.  I rarely disagree with Simon -- he thought the song choice was poor.

Danny Gokey -- PYT was his choice.  Was it good?  It's the greatest of all MJ songs and Gokey was OK.  I didn't love it, everyone else did.

Michael Sarver -- Nice guy.  I can live comfortably never seeing him perform again. It was a very forgettable performance.

Jasmine Murray -- I'm not feelin' it.  Sounded pitchy to me.  She's pretty but not good enough to be America's next Idol.  She better hope that the next 7 have have two poor performers or she'll be gone.

Kris Allen -- BORING.

Allison Ireheta -- Rock star.  She's becoming one of my favorites.  Not a great MJ song, but it was awesome.  I want her to ditch the lavender hair.

Anoop Desai -- Anoop may hang himself after hearing the judges rip his beat it performance to pieces -- including Paula.  Unfortunately, I agree with the judges -- it was terrible.

Jorge Nunez -- Great voice, deep-full tone.  Bad song choice.  America needs to keep him around for another week.

Megan Corkrey -- She has such a weird sound to her voice.  That tattoo is so ugly.  She can stay or go -- I don't care.

Adam Lambert -- Axl Rose sings MJ and I liked it.  He's my choice for the title this year.

Matt Giraud -- Loved it!  Human Nature great song choice.

Alexis Grace -- The song was way too big for her.

The top three are Adam, Allison & Matt.  The people who should go home are Megan & Alexis.

If Norman Gentle was still in the contest do you think he would have sang Ebony & Ivory and sang both parts?

Michael Jackson

The Top 13 will be singing from the Michael Jackson song catalog on Tuesday night.

What song will Megan ruin?

Will Anoop bust out with PYT?

Will anyone attempt Thriller?

Megan??? Really why??

Ricky Braddy blew Megan away. I'm glad Jasmine, Giraud & Anoop made the top 13 but Megan?

Megan over Craddy is like choosing Sanjaya over Carrie Underwood.

I guess someone has to be the first person voted off the top 13.

Shocked by Tatiana?

If you're shocked by the judges choice to add Tatiana -- you shouldn't be. The judges have always appreciated her singing voice and have tolerated her odd personality.

I believe the three best in the wild card are Braddy, Giraud & Anoop Dogg. Hopefully, they'll shine tonight.

Who do you think should have made the wild card in the place of Tatiana?

Third Group Rankings 3.3.09

Von Smith -- 7.5.  Good start to the show, solid voice but for some reason he annoys me.

Taylor Vaifanua -- 6.0. Weak start, not good enough to make the cut this week -- very nervous

Alex Wagner -- 5.5. Funny dude.  He'd win Canadian Idol but will not make the cut tonight.

Arianna Afsar -- 5.0. Terrible song choice, I was bored from the start.  You can tell she has a great voice but she didn't showcase it well.

Ju'Not Joyner -- 5.5. Nice voice but soooooooo boring.  Forgettable.

Kristin McNamara -- 8.5 Great full voice, engaging and confident -- should go to the top 12.

Nathaniel "Penny" Marshall -- 4.5.  Looks like Helen Reddy in 1975 and he performs like Charro on the Love Boat -- so annoying!  Very painful to watch.

Felicia Barton -- 6.5. I want to like her, she looks like Joan Jett, the song was choppy and uncomfortable.  She could make it.

Scott MacIntyre --6.5.  It was OK, but not good enough for the next round.  Nice guy.

Kendall Beard -- 5.0. Fun girl, if country America votes she'll go through.  Too pitchy.

Jorge Nunez -- 8.5.  Suave, smooth, deep tone.  He needs to be in the top 12.

Lil Rounds -- 9.0.  A seasoned performer, she's ready for the top 12

Brooke Update

Brooke White's debut single Hold up my heart has moved up to number 7 on iTunes top song list. White introduced her new song on the AI results show on Thursday.  I loved it instantly and downloaded it to my iPhone.
